A Prescription for Healthier School Librarianship: Transforming Our Practice for the 21st Century

A sincere thank you to the Hall County Media Specialists’ Association in north Georgia for inviting me to be a guest speaker at their luncheon this past Monday!  I enjoyed seeing several of my dear friends from the University of Georgia days as well as new colleagues.   Here is the slidedeck that facilitate the talk I gave:

  1. Buffy,

I so enjoyed your presentation. Hall County Librarians were so lucky to have you. I wanted to follow up with you on your netvibes and curriculum pathfinders that you do. Can you send me the links to a couple of examples you have created? Next year I am going to be facilitating some common projects between subject area teachers and I know that this will be a great tool.

    Thank you so much again.

    1. Jennifer:

Thank you so much! You can see the pathfinders here at http://www.theunquietlibrary.libguides.com/; here are some examples of student Netvibes pages as well as my own:

Life is a tad crazy right now with the end of year stuff (I know you can relate) plus upcoming jury duty, but I received your email and will work on answering that this weekend!

Thank you again for your gracious comments, and I look forward to sharing and discussing more resources with you!

      Best,
      Buffy

  2. A thought provoking presentation. It makes one feel positive abpout taking steps to provide the students in our schools with more information to make informed choices about where there information sources lie. It is the Information Superhighway.
